FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Are you professionally qualified?

A. Absolutely! I’m a highly trained qualified professional hairstylist, holding a recognised and regulated hairdressing qualification. This goes far beyond self-taught skills or short courses. For example, training in renowned salons in London with over 25 years experience in the industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to ensure you achieve your perfect look.

Q. What is it like having you with me on my wedding morning?

A. As one of the first people you’ll see on your wedding day, I take pride in setting a calm, positive tone for your morning. I bring professionalism, warmth, and a touch of humour to help you feel relaxed and confident. My goal is to ensure everything runs smoothly while creating a joyful, soothing atmosphere — and reminding you to pause, breathe, and savour every moment.

BOOKINGS

Q. When should I book

A. My diary is open 18 months ahead of the date. Once you have booked I’m exclusive for one bride and her party for one date only! I never do multiple weddings in one day. My busy times are

Thursday-Sunday during Spring through to Autumn and December.

For this reason, I do require a minimum booking during these peak times. If you know your date, please book to avoid disappointment via my ‘save the date’  form. Bookings are only secured once

payment has been made and confirmed.

Q. How should I book?

A. Complete the ‘save the date‘ form through my website info@lisatullartistryhair.com

Once received, I will check my diary, confirm availability and email some extra information on the next steps, deposit, T & C’s and trials

Q. I have a large bridal party — can you cater for everyone?

A. Absolutely! I adore big, joyful wedding mornings and have plenty of experience working with larger bridal parties. This does require a little extra planning, and depending on your numbers, I’ll

build a bespoke team to ensure everyone is looked after and your morning runs seamlessly.

I collaborate with a group of exceptionally talented  stylists— professionals I trust completely, it’a best to

confirm your bridal party size as early as possible so we can secure

the perfect team for your day.

TIMINGS

Q. How long does my bridal hairstyling take?

A. Every bride and bridal party is different, so exact timings are confirmed after your trial. Once I’ve seen your hair type and chosen style, I’ll create a tailored schedule to keep your morning running

smoothly. Longer or thicker hair may take a little extra time, while

shorter styles may require less.

Q. How early can you start?

A. I plan your schedule by working backwards from your ceremony time to ensure everything runs seamlessly. I’m happy to travel and begin as early as needed. However, if your morning requires a very

early start — typically before 5 a.m— you may wish to book an additional stylist to assist with timing, or consider arranging accommodation the night before to make the morning more relaxed and comfortable.

PAYMENTS

Q. What is the payment schedule?

1. Booking fee/Deposit:

A non-refundable, non transferable deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking. Once your deposit has been made please notify me with proof of transaction then I can confirm your

booking. Your booking deposit is deducted from your total balance, and is not part payment for a trial. Trial costs are payable 24hrs before

your trial payable by bank transfer. The final invoice will be worked

out after your hair trial has taken place.

2: 50% of the total invoice is payable one week after the trial by bank transfer.

3: The remainder is payable one week before the wedding date by bank transfer. Should no payment be received then I have the rightto cancel all services for your wedding date and all fees will still be payable.

Q. Where are you based?

A. My studio is located in Whitstable, Kent. While most of my weddings take place across Kent and London, I regularly travel throughout the UK and internationally — to style brides wherever their celebrations may be.

Q. How far do you travel within the UK?

A. Travel within a 10-mile radius of my Whitstable studio is included. I’m very happy to travel beyond this to your venue, hotel, or home anywhere in the UK. For locations outside the included radius, additional travel costs may apply — please feel free to ask for a personalised quote.

KIT

Q. What products will you use?

A. Every bridal look is bespoke, and I only use premium,

professional products to achieve beautiful, lasting results. As an

independent stylist, I’

m free to select the best brands for each

client. My kit includes luxury favourites such as Moroccanoil,

Colour Wow, L’Oréal Professionnel, Schwarzkopf, Wella, Redken,

Olaplex, and Unite

Q. Are the products you use cruelty-free?

I believe in working as ethically and kindly as possible.

That’s why I use cruelty-free and vegan products wherever I can, with trusted brands like Unite, Maria Nila, Olaplex, and Colour Wow in my kit.

Product performance always comes first — every item I use meets the highest professional standards to ensure flawless, long-lasting results while staying true to my values.

Q. What hygiene precautions do you take?

A. Your safety is always my priority. All brushes, tools, and products are thoroughly sanitised after each booking, and my kit is regularly cleaned with professional-grade disinfectant. I also wash and sanitise my hands before and between every client to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.

Q. Do you sell products? Will my bridal party hear a sales pitch?

A. Not at all — I’m not a salesperson, and your wedding morning is never about that. My focus is entirely on creating a calm, enjoyable experience for you and your bridal party.

Q. Are you happy to recommend products that will work for me?

A. Absolutely! I’m often asked for advice on hair and scalp care — which products I love, how to use them, and which ones to avoid. I’m always happy to share honest recommendations during your trial based purely on performance and results. I’m not affiliated

with any brand and don’t earn commission; every suggestion comes from genuine experience and my passion for beautiful, healthy hair.

Q. What are your hygiene practices?

A. As a professional hairstylist, I take hygiene and cleanliness very seriously. My  kit is sanitised. All

tools/equipment are disinfected between bookings using professional-grade, EPA-approved products,

Brushes, combs, and styling tools

are sanitised before and after every use, and shared items like hairdryers or curling irons are regularly disinfected. Maintaining these high standards ensures a safe, clean, and

comfortable environment for you and your bridal party throughout

your wedding morning.

TRIALS

Q. What do I do at your trial?

A. We’ll begin with a relaxed consultation where we chat about your ideas and everything you’d love for your day.

Communication is so important, so I’ll ask your likes, dislikes, and personal style to make sure I fully

understand your vision.

I’ll make you feel comfortable throughout the process, offearing  professional advice and suggestions along the way. Together, we’ll

create a look that complements your features, hairstyle, wedding

dress, and accessories—ensuring everything works beautifully in

Q. What happens at the trial?

A. The trial is the first fun step to creating your perfect wedding look. The trial is an essential part of the process as it allows me to understand your vision for your wedding day.

Q. Where do I go for my Trial?

A. Trials take place at my studio in Whitstable, Kent.

I am happy to come to your home address for your trial for an additional cost. I do understand that not everyone’s work pattern fits with a mid-week trial, if this is the case, let me know and I will try to work around it for you.

Q. What should I do to prepare for my trial?

A. A picture truly is worth a thousand words when it comes to describing your dream look! Many brides find it helpful to bring

along visual inspiration for the style they’d love to achieve on their big day. If you’re collecting photos, try to choose examples featuring people

with a similar hair colour, texture, and length to your own—this helps keep expectations realistic and ensures we can create a look

that suits you perfectly.

Pinterest, Instagram, or even magazine clippings are great sources of inspiration. Bring along anything that catches your eye! These references help us discuss your preferences and refine your vision together.

But don’t worry if you‘re not quite sure what you want yet—just come with an open mind. Once I get a sense of your tastes, I’ll guideyou with ideas and suggestions to find a style that feels

authentically you.

If you have a photo of your dress, this will help me too

bring a photo of your dress and even better, a photo of you in the dress.
Are you thinking about hair extensions?

Hair extensions can also make a huge difference and can enhance certain styles which require volume or length. If this is something you are considering, let me know prior to your trial.

Try and wear the colour of your dress to your trial

Q. Should I consider hair extensions for my wedding day?

A. If you envision walking down the aisle with luxurious, voluminous hair, extensions can be an excellent choice—enhancing both updos and

flowing styles alike.

For best results, your wedding day should not be the first time you wear extensions. Becoming familiar with their feel, movement, and weight in advance ensures complete comfort If you own clip-ins, please bring them to your trial; I also have samples  sets available and can professionally colour match and

source extensions for you if needed.

semi-permanent options such as weaves, LA weaves, tape-ins,beaded, or bonded extensions, I recommend arranging a consultation with a specialist for fitting prior to your trial

appointment. Extensions are not only ideal for adding length—they provide volume, structure, and longevity to your style. They act as a supportive base, helping curls last longer and giving your chosen

look more fullness With various

methods available, they can be tailored perfectly to achieve

your dream bridal

Q. How much is a trial?

A. Bride at Studio = £90 (2hrs)

Bridal party/guests at studio = £80

For travelling to your given address = quoted at time of booking a trial.

Q. Do you do phone /Skype consultations?

A. I can schedule a phone call or Facetime

Hopefully, my FAQ's have answered a lot of your preliminary questions, but if you do prefer to chat we can schedule an initial phone call or FaceTime at a mutually convenient time to talk freely. I love to chat about all things hair and bridal and of course want to

hear all about the details for your day.

Q. When should I schedule my trial?

A. Preferably 3 months before your big day

What time should you book your trial?

It's preferable to come in the daytime, you can trial and test out the staying power

throughout the day.  At 3 months prior to your

wedding date, once you’ve finalised other key details - like your timings

then time to focus on the one thing everyone will be  looking at..You! I’m happy to do your trial earlier or later, but it's

recommended not too far away or too close to your wedding date as

your hair could change.

Q. Can I book my trial for another event before my wedding?

A. Some brides like to arrange for their trial to coincide with a pre-wedding boudoir shoot, dress fitting, or even the kick-off for their hen night. This way you can make the most of the look and you can really test the staying power with the girls, without the groom seeing your surprise wedding look before he gets home. Get in touch three months ahead of when you wish to schedule your trial, or in the case you are in a profession in which you have certain times of the year off (for example if

Q. Do I need to bring my veil and hair accessories with me to my trial?

A. I definitely recommend you bring any accessories you intend to wear like hair vines, combs, tiaras, decorative grips and pins, hair extensions and veils with you to your trial. So, I can incorporate all

of these things into your look as these will all be taken into consideration when designing your perfect hair look. I do have a practice veil here at my studio and a small selection of hair accessories to experiment with if you are undecided or your actual

one is unavailable.

Q. Can I book my trial on a weekend?

A. I always try to arrange a trial date to suit your schedule. I am sure you

are aware that any in-demand bridal hairstylist will be booked at most weekends. When a wedding is booked I offer a total exclusively to each bride. The volume of weddings booked at the weekends means that a rare weekend off is a cherished one.

Trial appointments can be arranged earlier or later if you would like to ensure I can find an appointment that conveniently fits into your schedule.

Q. Can I have a trial before booking you?

A. This is not possible

Due to the high demand on dates and running such a busy diary, this would be a waste of both our time if the wedding date wasn’t available in my diary You would need to reserve a date first as there

is no point in spending the time at trial if I weren't able to do the actual wedding day.

Q. After the trial, am I committed to book?

A. No, you are just liable to pay for the trial.

After your trial appointment, I will ask you if you are overall happy

with everything and confirm to move forward with your booking.

Q. What if I don ’t like my trial results?

A. If you don’t like your trial results, that’s okay. My goal is to create the bespoke look you envision for your big day, and that requires open communication. Throughout the trial, I’ll ask questions and check each step with you, giving you chances to look in the mirror and share your thoughts, feedback is essential. While I aim to follow your brief, some inspiration photos may be unrealistic or outside your comfort zone, so honesty helps us find the right balance.

Q. Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

A.Yes of course you can!

If it makes you feel more relaxed, or you value someone‘s option with your hairstyle or you respect their input , you're more than welcome to bring someone with you, my studio has additional seating for 1 other guest.

Q. What if I or you have to cancel the trial?

A. Trials are booked especially for you, please give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows will incur an additional trial fee.

If you’re unwell, please let me know as soon as possible — it’s best to reschedule so we don’t risk passing illness on. The same applies if I’m unwell.

On rare occasions, I may need to move your trial due to an urgent last-minute wedding booking. For this reason, I recommend booking your trial within 3 months of your wedding date
